R3 is a collaborative think tank created by Academy of Art University graphic design students and California lithographers to promote sustainable design. The project was created in Academy instructor Tom Sieu's Print 3 class where each student was asked to identify an existing product and design a book that documents its life cycle. The resulting collection of printed samples showcases each student’s innovative solutions — how they applied a viable design solution to their product and directly impact people’s lives. This collaborative project demonstrates design’s integral part in changing patterns of behavior.
The Earth Awards is a global search for future-crucial design solutions that will improve our collective social, cultural, economic and ecological quality of life.
