GD:USA’s 2010 American Package Design Awards included the best of packaging and labeling systems for a variety of products, and seven Academy of Art University’s School of Graphic Design alums were the designers of these winning packages.
Alum Pauline Au, Designer, Deutsch Design Works, received an award for her nature-inspired design of Sprint packaging in the Electronics, Music and Personal Entertainment category.
Mary Rauzi, a School of Graphic Design intern also working for Liquid Agency, received an award for the design of a new packaging system for Eton Corporation. Read more about Liquid Agency’s award for Eton, plus their second American Package Design Award, on Liquid Agency’s blog.
Meegan Perry (BFA 2005) and Bill Kerr, both School of Graphic Design alums now working at Brand Engine, were given American Package Design awards for the design of Little Bug baby food packaging. The Little Bug packaging has also been featured on The Dieline.
Sara Golzari, Design Director, CF Napa Brand Design, is credited for four of this year’s American Package Design Awards for the direction and packaging design for a variety of wine bottles. Kevin Reeves, another School of Graphic Design alum, designed two of the four winning bottles.
Ben Hsieh (BFA 2006), who is also working for Deutsch Design Works, received an award for the redesign of Budweiser’s American Ale packaging.
Charles Malonzo (BFA 2009), a freelance graphic designer, is credited for the redesign of Hidden Valley’s KC Masterpiece sauces.
