The GOOD Worldwide Store Is ‘Open’ at TheDieline.com

the-good-storeIt exists only in the imagination of five Academy of Art University Graphic Design students and alumni. But their concept for the GOOD Worldwide, LLC, retail store is inspired by the real-life GOOD magazine, and the project is judged good enough for coverage by the notable packaging website TheDieline.com.

Speaking about the GOOD Worldwide store concept, team member and alum Fred Carriedo (BFA 2013) described the project as “making a better store for a greater good.” Other team members are Victoria Herrera, Jessica Giboin, Ihan Huang and Lydia Mulyadi.

A source of inspiration was right at hand. Says Carriedo, “As designers, it has become our job to think about what we consume, use and design, so I reached for my favorite magazine, GOOD, for the answer.”

According to the team members, GOOD Worldwide, LLC, is imagined as a companion to the GOOD website, GOOD.is, the quarterly magazine, online videos and branded events…all of which highlight what’s sustainable, prosperous, productive, creative and equitable.

The magazine covers the environment, education, urban planning, design, food, politics, culture, lifestyle, technology, sex and health. “It seems that the next step for GOOD is to open branch stores that only sell products with the same concept and goal: to push the world forward,” says Carriedo.

The GOOD Store project was produced for Tom McNulty’s Package Design 4 class in the School of Graphic Design.
